Why the change?

Communication or Teams Site?
Think of it this way: a communication site is like a company bulletin board, while a Team site is like a shared digital workbench.
- Communication Site (The Bulletin Board): Use this when a small group needs to broadcast information to a large audience. It is ideal for departmental homepages, company policies, or HR portals where most people come to read, download forms, or stay updated, but don't need to edit the pages.
- Team Site (The Digital Workbench): Use this when a specific group needs to work together on a project or day-to-day tasks. It links directly to a Microsoft Team, giving everyone on the team equal access to build pages, share folders, and co-edit documents together.
If you are sharing information with the company, go with a communication site. If you are working on files with your immediate team, choose a Team site.
What’s next?
To request a new SharePoint site, navigate to app.orchestry.com and sign in with your organization's Microsoft 365 credentials. Once logged in, click the "Create Workspace" button on your dashboard to view the available site templates. Choose either a Team Site or a Communication Site based on your project's needs, fill out the quick request form with your site title, description, and designated owners, and click Submit. Your request will automatically route through governance checks and provision your customized site in just a few minutes if approved by NRCTC Admin.
