SoftChalk to Create + Migration (Spring 2024)

Our current license for Brightspace D2L includes licensing for SoftChalk, and add-on that provides a drag-and-drop approach to creating instructional content.
Brightspace has recently released a competitive product called Create + (Plus), which provides better integration with D2L and improved features compared to SoftChalk.
WVNET will be migrating all hosted D2L institutions (like New River) from SoftChalk to Create + during the Spring 2024 term. This email provides the details and plans for this transition.
- Jan 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024—the transition period during which WVNET provides Create + training and assistance to faculty and admins.
- June 30, 2024—the last day faculty will have access to SoftChalk integrated with D2L.
